Will more big private equity deals of the past year fall apart? (Back to story)

Yes. I hate private equity firms and am enjoying seeing them being taken to the cleaners.

Yes. Alltel is a great example: what do private equity companies know about operating wireless phone networks ?

This fundamental, strategic question can be repeated in other industries, for example: what do private equity companies know about operating car companies, such as Chrysler, or pwer companies, such as TXU ?

The private equity groups are flippers, just not of homes. Equities are returning to being value markets, just like homes did.

A LOT more big private equity deals of the past year will thus fall apart.
