Are you shopping more at discount stores like Wal-Mart and Big Lots because of the economic downturn? (Back to story)

The trick is to buy a few good quality things that will last. Pay the price and buy less things.
Stop buying junk that only lasts a short time.
Good quality always looks good and is desirable. No need for cupboards full of junk!!!!

People are going to the less expensive stores because service at the big retailers is terrible. Poorly trained staff and unregulated stores are the major reason for this situation.

I am planning on doing almost all my shopping online, but mostly I am going to do what I think most others will be doing and that is spending a lot less this year.

Just got done shopping at Walmart and spent $600. Couldn’t resist the great deals they had on small electronics. First time shopping on Black Friday and I loved it!

I’m doing most of my Christmas shopping at Costco (online). This is where I’ve always done my shopping, though. I find that I spend a bit more shopping with them vs. Wal-Mart/Sam’s, but the quality is worth the price. I have certainly never shopped at mall stores for gifts and never will.

I haven’t cut back on my shopping at all this year, although I’m not exactly the dream customer for retailers, either. I buy for immediate family and I participate in the department gift exchange at work, so I only buy for one person there. My Christmas shopping is done with my debit card–I refuse to spend the foolish amounts of money that so many do for holiday gifts, and I certainly won’t go into debt over it.

Sure am…at least shopping the grocary store sales. Mostly I am buying less …a lot less. Not buying what I don’t need. Walmart, yes. BIG Lots kind of stores, no–only a lot of junk you are tempted to buy that you don’t need.
