Are you unemployed and using unconventional methods to find work? What do you think about some of the methods mentioned in the story? Post your comments here.

Back to story.

I think it’s mostly funny, I hope 2009 brings 10x as many job cuts as 2008 did. Thats what we deserve!

I put this site up back in 2005 and it worked for me.

I’ve been a professional recruiter now for 10 years and this is one of the scariest times I’ve encountered in my career. There are tons of people looking for work and I literally receive 100s of resumes per week for 1 job posting!

I actually wrote a blog article almost a year ago about people using Twitter to network and find jobs:

Also, here is a podcast about 5 Secrets From A Recruiter That You Need To Know… it may seem a bit “out of the box” but it’s my professional experience. Good luck!

I have heard people use extreme methods to get jobs. According to one person that suggested that job seeker walk in the building where you want to work in order to get face time by-passing the HR. Does he know that many of the employers have security and they will escort or ask you to leave if you have no business being there after talking to HR because I have done it. Many of the business have security at the gate at the entrance where they can prevent you from going in and they are given specific instruction to call HR if a person does that. Again I have done this.
I have received phone calls for potential accountant positions and then they disappear or say other things in order to avoid me when they find that they have to work with me either face to face time or e-mail because I have loss my hearing.
In order to fix this I need an cochlear implant but the state has cut the budget so I have wait until the money becomes available. I have to work in the meantime. I have not heard from the media about highly qualified person with a hearing loss in this job market.
