How high do you think gas prices will reach this summer?

Are you worried about the rising cost of gas?

If gas prices continue to rise, will it impact your family’s travel plans?

Americans pay less per gallon of gas than most developed countries. Smartly so these countries have invested in public transportation, and when they drive, their car of choice isn’t a SUV transporting just one person. While frustrating, the out of pocket expense for fuel is the result of American greed (consumers and auto manufacturers), lack of good public transportation and not using public transportation when available. Face it, there needs to be a seachange in our transportation decisions and Obama has taken the lead in this endeavor.

Wall Street and their greed caused Gas prices last year to go through the roof, which subsequently sunk the economy into recession, so now just as the economy starts this slightest rebound, our rich that get richer on Wall Street are doing it to us again.

One thing of note that has never made sense, is say the price of oil goes up $5.00 a barrel in a week, we will see the price at the pump jump significantly and immediately. But, once it drops the same in a week, we do not get the same level of decrease, if we get a decrease at all, as we did on the increase. I drive 144 miles roundtrip a day for my job in another city, so I fill up at least twice a week right now and pay close attention to all the stations pricing along my route.

Thanks again Wall Street, keep up the solid work.

resources in our backyard will do nothing the oil companies and hedge funds will still find a way to drive up prices simply take down a bunch of refineries for so called maintenance and create a shortage, or as they have done before fill up the storage tanks with heating oil in april so there is no place to put the oil, as for natural gas alternative do you really think that people wont run up the futures price of Nat gas, I spent 28 years in the futures business, trust me the only things that will work is 1. lower futures spec position limits 2. increase margin to 50% of the value fully maintained 3. educate dumb reporters so they don’t buy all the BS reasons they are given for the increase in crude prices

Prices will keep going up. There is no end in sight. The real question is, why do they keep going up? There is no reason. The pathetic thing is we have the resources in our own back yard, accross many states, however, the environmental-nut-jobs out there make sure we suffer to save some sort of rare blue-grass off in the boondocks. Our dependancy on foreign oil could be eliminated if Obama had any go-nads to drill locally. Its all about control. How can anyone aford a vacation when we can’t afford to fill up our gas tanks.

I’m willing to bet that gas prices will reach to $3 and above this summer. I’m concerned that prices will not just stop there. The rediculous thing about it all, is that there is nothing to stop it. Here we are spending our mortgage money on gas to drive to work, when other middle east countries are spending less on gas than pumping water through their pipes. It is a joke, we have natural resources in our own back yard, only Obama and his staff are scared to offend the environmentalists if we even mention drilling in our own states. It’s a joke, one big joke! Only no one is laughing.

Democrats and Obama. You will kill the creeping economy if you don’t freeze gas prices below $2.50 per gallon. I know a lot of loony Dem fringies like the price going up but we are talking about real pain for the middle and lower income Americans . Higher gas prices means less money to buy other items: groceries, restaurants, movies, clothing , etc. For what? So the hsare holders of Big Oil can make record profits?? Wake up Democrats. Wake up.

Oil Companies raise prices because they can. Prices go up every summer, they always have. I used to work in the oil industry. The companies, on the whole, are slimy, greedy, and as evil as corporate evil can get. They control the product from the ground to your gas tanks and virtually eliminated competition in the 1970’s by running all the independent companies out of business.
I have said since the 70’s that oil should be regulated as a public utility. Oil is not a product that the average American can choose not to buy and still be able to function in society. Beginning with California at the turn of the 20th century the oil companies killed urban mass transit. That coupled with then cheap fuel and Americans’ love for automobiles assured the future of the oil companies and US drivers addiciton to the fuel.

Now is the time for President Obama to make good on his promises- Mr. Obama you bailed out the banks, you are bailing out the auto companies- please lean on the oil speculation that got us in this mess in the first place-do something about the gas price gouging and I will believe you- do nothing and I finally quit!

America needs to stop the Detroit Dinos and build hydrogen fuel cell autos and create our own fuel from natural gas and biomass. The savings will be enormous not only in fuel but healthwise and keeping our money in our economy!!

Posted By Fish,Albuquerque, NM: June 1, 2009 1:30 pm

as usual the oil companies raise the price of gas when holidays or summer comes. they are taking advantage of the chance to just rip of consumers shamefully. how much profit does these people need. how can they tell the difference between 10 million and 100 million.they make so much. we should make an effort to cut our use of gas until it hurts, so in the long run it hurts the greedy companies. how can we call countries like saudi our frends when they are the leaders that plot to hurt us.

Posted By Levi Rosecrans: May 29, 2009 7:55 am

So many complaints about rising prices, and yet the closest I have read so far to a cure is “the government should step in”. I agree…oil and gas are a precious commodity essential to maintain our existence, particularly in major metropolitan areas. Price controls over windfall profits are called for, particularly in the oil industry and this should be a wake-up call for us all!

Why doesn’t our goverenment get involved with this crimminal monoply of fuel sales within the U.S. Obama is certainly not afraid to get his nose into everything else. Oh I forgot this would be for the whole population, not just the few.

To Harry in Cumming, GA and those that say if you don’t like it move to Europe its worse there. Maybe so, but that is the most ridiculous statement to make. You can not compare our country to theirs, because our infrastructures are completely different. Their cities are much older than ours and most people either live close to their jobs where they walk, ride a bike or take a transit system that was designed around these old cities.
Harry in Cumming, GA., you know as well as I do because we both live in the grater metro Atlanta area, that the majority of United States cities are built were people live in surrounding suburbs and have to commute a substantial distance to work. That is the difference. We can not at this point continue our way of life in this country if the gas prices go up again.
The key is that we must ALL be more responsible, and I think a good portion of Americans have done better about their driving habits, and this should not be taken advantage of either.
One other point, the reason for control on gas prices vs. that of milk, bread or coffee at Starbucks is that we MUST have gas in our vehicles (at this point in time) to make a living… we do not HAVE to buy milk or Starbucks to get to work to provide for our families!
Yes we need food too, but don’t come back with that lame rebuttal. You know what I’m saying. Can’t afford gas to get to work, lose your job, and now you do not have money to buy milk, bread, meat or Starbucks…its rather simple!
BIG DIFFERENCE between NEED and want.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you CNN and others stations for reporting / (creating) news on the potential increase on gas prices.
Do you not realize that the rise in gas prices last year was a big part of our economies downfall? Sure we had other issues (mortgage & banks), but when the majority of the American populous stops frequenting local stores and traveling our economy takes an even bigger hit.
YOU news reporting (and I use reporting lightly) or should I say NEWS CREATORS are to blame for the fear and hype that spreads across this country. I’m all in favor of, and support our freedom of speech and press, but CREATING NEWS that spreads fear and cripples my countries economy in my opinion is a terrorist act. I appeal to you, to STOP this practice of CREATING NEWS.
When you say the gas prices are going to be 4-5 dollars a gallon based on a poll, you are saying to those oil companies and the oil speculators “go ahead and jack those prices up, because we are expecting it anyway!”
I have seen many reports (even from you CNN) showing a decline in the fuel demand and how the traffic travel times are cut down in major cities, because of less people driving for work. So, don’t give me the supply and demand spiel.
What this boils down to, is ALL MEDIA CREATING NEWS, DRAMA and putting FEAR in the American public… SO STOP!!!

Report NEWS and stop creating it!

Posted By Matt, Atlanta, GA: May 23, 2009 11:39 am

Why do the American people tollerate the rise in gas prices every summer? When will Big Oil be stopped? Does anyone know how to stop them from gouging us every chance they get? Our complacency sickens me. This is America, stand up people!

Posted By Chase, Clearwater FL: May 22, 2009 9:55 am

This is when everyone should buy only $3.00 gas at each gas station even if you have to go the next block’s gas station and buy $3.00 more. Why? because at the end of the day each gas station sees that people are buying only $3.00 they do not know that you actually filled your tank- even if it takes you a little time, after a week of EVERYONE doing so, the gas prices will go DOWN. Please also google “air car” and learn of the car which runs SOLELY on air from the STREET and expels SOLELY air back to the street. Please make it a point to buy one! Down with the stupid greedy oil companies and their kings and pimps and prostitutes in Washington DC and other governments of the world. DOWN WITH THE OIL COMPANIES FOREVER!

Posted By Rivirivi, Miami, FLorida: May 22, 2009 9:52 am

This is just plain absurd greed. As stated by several news agencies, oil fell to $61.05 thursday(yesterday) and the price of gas continues to rise. What the heck is Obama and our lazy congressmen thinking? The speculators are laughing all the way to the bank and our government does nothing to close the loopholes speculators use to simply squash any uptick our economy may have to start improviing. If I was a congressman or the president, this would be a critical priority before it gets out of hand like when gas went up to $4 a gallon last year. $2.50 a gallon is not cheap gas, a$1.25 is cheap gas and amount we can live with. Remember too, all of this oil revenue is only stoking middle eastern countries revenues and helping the terrorists.

Posted By Kerry, Springfield Ohio: May 22, 2009 9:41 am

It’s ridiculous to compare the price of gas to such necessities as milk, meat, bread and health care. The bottom line is the public is again getting screwed by high gas prices for no apparent reason. The price per barrel is now around $60, and the price of gas is around $2.50 or so depending on where you live. At this rate gas will cost around $6.00 a gallon should the price of oil go back to its all time high of $147 a barrel. This is $1.50 higher than the average rate when oil was at its all time high. In the meantime even though gas inventories are awash, the major oil companies are storing oil on surplus tankers; waiting for oil prices to climb. If this is not price manipulation, I don’t know what is. The American public does not seem to care because most likely they still remember the days when gas was $4.50 and $5.00 a gallon. Nothing will stop the economic recovery faster than gas going back up to $3.00 a gallon which seems to be the trend.

Posted By Manassas, VA: May 22, 2009 9:37 am

The biggest reason is our Government/EPA. When you take a car/truck that gets 24mpg already and restrict the emissions even more. Now that same car/truck gets 14mpg… The emissions restrictions have been on cars since the early 1970’s and yet the ozone layer, smogg keeps getting worse. So that is not the problem, the problem is people. There are too many of us on this planet, end of story. If there were a catastrophe today that wiped out 2 or 3 million we would be much better off.

Posted By Dave, Dover DE: May 22, 2009 9:20 am

Economic fundamentals have never applied to gas prices…only market whims, traditions and manipulation dictate gas prices.

Posted By Derrick, Greenville, SC: May 22, 2009 9:19 am

One more thing. Yes Jon of CA, you are correct. There are no restrictions on milk, beef or bread companies. But aren’t making $40 billion a quarter profit and raising prices. This is greed and that is why our so called government needs to step in and stop this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted By Bodine, KC,MO: May 22, 2009 9:07 am

Does this really surprise anyone? American oil companies make $40 billion a quarter profit. THAT’S PROFIT PEOPLE!!!! And that’s after all bills and debts are paid off. And they still raise prices. This has nothing to do with holidays or supply and demand. This has to do with greed.

I said this back when gas was at an all time high. It’s not the Middle East screwing the American people; it’s our own American Oil Companies. Because the Bush administration was mainly oil tycoons, they were making money hand over fist, and wouldn’t do anything about it. Look at it this way, at $4 a gallon they were making $40 billion profit a quarter. Let’s say they dropped the price to $2 a gallon, they would then make $20 billion a quarter profit. ITSN’T THAT ENOUGH?????

Posted By Bodine, KC,MO: May 22, 2009 9:03 am

What is wrong with our Government to allow this to happen. With our economy the way it is this shounld not be allowed to happen. Peolpe are getting laid off left and right, scrapping to get buy. losing their homes and now what HAVING TO PAY HIGHER GAS PRICES, so the OIL CO. can get RICHER. This is so wrong. The President needs to step in and change this.

What is wrong with America. We should all be helping each other in times of need not trying rich off of the poor. It is sad what America has turned out to be.

What a stupid, stupid report! “but it is not as high as last summer”. Get a grip on your butt people when the media starts to justify some camel riding a-hole’s budget numbers. We are being controlled by them and not by the market. The price of gas is not market driven but by profits only.

They keep saying refinery capacity refinery capacity. But two months ago, the refineries cut production to 82% due to low demand. The fires in the operating refineries are small refineries. They would have to bump production to 85-97% of capacity on the remaining to make up the difference.

Its just one lie anfte another

Posted By Charles LA , CA: May 22, 2009 8:20 am

Well, what did we expect? It’s just like the Obama administration which refuses to let any good crisis go to waste. In fact, the oil industry invented the system of “don’t let any excuse go to waste”. And the industry analysts, of course, feel compelled to “figure out” why the prices went up, so they look for any excuse too. This isn’t Capitalism, where supply and demand rule, this is collusion, where the “big guys” give each other a wink and a nod as they all join together in raising prices whenever the opportunity presents itself. Just wait until you see the oil industry profits skyrocket when “cap & trade” gets passed…and it will, despite the will of the people. GOD HELP US!

Posted By Carl, Panama City, FL: May 22, 2009 8:20 am

Let’s see, Memorial Day is coming up so gas prices HAVE to go up. Right, it’s not like the number of cars on the road is really increasing. The oil companies do this every year. Do they think that people will just keep paying it every year. In 2008 people curtailed, changed or outright abandoned their summer plans because of gas prices. Do the oil companies want people to buy gas this summer? Try this, if they LOWER prices, more people will buy gas and go driving more buying even more gas. Crazy thought I know.

I was going to mske a comment on the B.S. that “capitalist” oilmen use to raise the price of gas and inflict further injury toa limping economy but it’s all been said. I parenthesize “capitalist” in reference to the first comment this morning to point out that these oilmen are not true capitalists who respond rightly to the ebb and flow of supply and deman but rather they are “greed whores” taking the public for all it is worth without even kissing us first or saying thank you for your bottomless pockets. Cap the prices and boycott oil produciong nations that don’t play by the fair rules of true capitalism.

Posted By Liam Shannon, Summerville, SC: May 22, 2009 7:11 am

What will prevent the oil companies from increasing the price of gasoline again and again, until the cost savings of a higher mileage vehicle will not be any savings anymore?
Cars will not sell if the gas prices get to the point where it is unaffordable by the low and middle class consumer or the fixed income seniors. Our economy will not improve, people will loose their jobs and only the big oil and the Middle East will benefit.

Keep in mind, our US auto companies and oil companies have been in “bed” together for over 100 years…time for a separation, a divorce.

Posted By Captain Grammer, MS: May 21, 2009 6:12 pm

Gas in and of itself is not the issue to my way of thinking. It is the 10% ethanol added to it. In my state you cannot get gas anywhere that there is not ethanol. It evaporates rapidly and refills are more frequent. I am paying more at the pump, more often for the ethanol. Plus, it gums up the engine, especially my mower. What I did on one fillup in my mower now takes 3 fillups because there is less gas and more evaporation. I am switching to an electric mower for starters but will never be able to afford hybrids and electric cars. Only the rich get to have the previlege of going green. Will I travel less? Yes. But I also don’t buy as much milk or bread, no meat at all, and I have been drinking the tap water for years.

Posted By Meret Wilson: May 21, 2009 5:35 pm

Let no one think for a moment that fuel prices bear any rational resemblance to costs of production – Exxon Mobil and the others will rape the public and line their pockets this year the same as last. It’s travel season and record profits need to be set – sadly we all go along for the ride.

Posted By Steve, Litchfield, MN: May 21, 2009 5:21 pm

As soon as gas went back over $2.00 a gallon I cancelled all summer driving trips, I for one refuse to go on a trip and pay more than $2.00 a gallon while the oil company makes huge profits. I guess I will just hang out at the house again this year and get caught up on home projects, I wish everyone would just refuse to take any trips until gas becomes reasonable and stays that way.

record profits for the oil co.s and dick chaneys thugs. i listened to all the excuses for high gas prices-they are all B.S. speculators are out there making a killing at our expense. these are some of the most disgusting people on the face of the earth. refinery problems-please. these guys dont operate at full capacity and never have. refineries have been bought up and closed down in order to jack the price up. all the news media does is mouth off some crap that an oil analyst has puked up. try some honest reporting. i guess since wall street, the oil co.s and a lot of congress is in collusion with each other-what do you expect but lies. dont hand me that garbage about supply and demand. if you are able to supply unlimited gas at $4 a gallon-where is the shortage. ever notice how the oil co.s use this as an excuse to press for drilling in environmental sensitive areas. on top of the oil co.s raping the public they also receive billions in tax breaks-at tax payer expense. instead of giving these pricks breaks-take the money and invest it into alternative fuels etc. you might want to invest in more fuel efficient vehicles. try adding a tax to those that want to drive around in tanks. if they want to drive tanks around then make them pay the full price. last but not least-for you morons that say we pay cheap prices in relation to europe. the reason the prices are high in europe is due to gas taxes. a barrel of crude costs no more or less in europe than it does in the U.S. you people that use this argument are about as dumb as a fence post. people should not be driving gas hogs-if they do make them pay.

Until the younger people in the US are taught how we busted OPEC in the 70’s this country will continue to use way to much oil for everything including gas. Bet they don’t teach it is school. Cut out the joy riding, driving vacations, plastic bottles, styro plates and cups. Turn up the A/C temp to 78 and higher when not at home. Put the US auto makers out of business and buy foreign cars (assembled in the US)that already get high milage. Then the oil companies would be forced to cut prices. The minute prices went down this year, everyone when back to there same old wastefull ways.

Posted By Cooper, Palm Bay, FL: May 21, 2009 4:30 pm

gas “pricing” is all a huge scam. the question is WHEN will the government get serious about dealing with it? gas at the pump today was bought & processed months ago, yet now that driving season is coming they find it necessary to raise prices? come on! Big Oil’s jig is up. Hopefully Obama will regulate them since they are too corrupt to do it themselves.

Posted By Mark, White Plains, NY: May 21, 2009 4:25 pm

Most Americans have not correlated the gouging of gasoline and diesel fuel prices with the present economic downturn, but that is exactly the case. The energy giants were testing the limits of the great American middle-class consumer juggernaut, and found the tipping point of the world economy by teasing the largest captive consumer class on earth. The lid came off fuel prices and the resulting backslide triggered thousands of causative factors to react, decimating the buying power of those living on a tight budget. Those who missed it last time need to pay attention this time, and take the problem to the federal government, who can effectively regulate the heavy handed oil industry.

Posted By Scott Searl: May 21, 2009 4:23 pm

Gas prices will go as high as consumers are willing to continue to purchase it. Rising costs in a recession are always cause for concern as it will help raise inflation rates. High gas prices impacts families already coping with job losses, and job cutbacks and will certainly impact travel plans. Corporations and Boards of Directors haven’t changed one bit in this economy. They’re still looking for a slot machine Vegas win at the expense of the lower and middle class. When all the consumers are too broke to purchase their wares, pay taxes to the Federal and State Governments because their jobs are gone, and have lost their homes perhaps they’ll see the light. No, wait, that’s happening already! Newsflash: Perhaps regulations could be passed to stop this, since our Corporations are not good stewards of our national economy. Laws are created not to do away with democracy or capitalism but to protect the law abiding citizen from the unscrupulous who would exploit the populace.

Posted By Gloria – Seattle, WA: May 21, 2009 4:12 pm

It could be time to go back to regulating the fuel costs. We never had these problems during that time frame, gas was cheap and the companies made a profit.

Posted By Pete Patterson, Fredericksburg, Va 22408: May 21, 2009 4:10 pm

Some people think Americans have short memories on big issues, but one thing they don’t forget is fear. As gas gets over $2.50 a gallon, the fear of $4 gas will take hold. They will start cutting back as they expect the worst still to come. They now understand that when that number goes up, so does everything else they buy because it takes gas to get it there. After hitting $4/gal last year, that number has a lot of power on consumer confidence. People see it every day on the drive to work. It will stick with them and affect spending. Seeing $3 will likely end the economic recovery.

Posted By Jeremy, Denver, CO: May 21, 2009 4:06 pm

No one mentions that gas prices rise each Spring because regulations require the refiners to produce a cleaner blend of gas for the high polution summer months. This added cost is legitimately passed through to all of us. It’s another negative economic side effect of the global warming, environmental activists.

Posted By Chris, Framingham, MA: May 21, 2009 3:53 pm

I actually think crude oil prices won’t go up much further, if at all.

But I think we still may see $3.50 to $4 a gallon for gas this Summer because speculators will likely flood investment money into refined gasoline (and not crude oil) in the next few weeks.

The good news is I think the long-term outlook if for crude at $45-$50 a barrel and gas at about $2 a gallon.

Why? Major development of alternative energy has started, and I think that will depress world oil demand (espeically for power generation).

Hybrid and electric cars will also in time dent demand for gasoline.

Posted By Joseph, Norwood, MA: May 21, 2009 3:04 pm

There is no free market in gasoline for the consumer. You have to pay what you have to pay for gas to get to where you got to go, to pay for your gas to get to where you got to go….. no public transit here, just cows. Hugo Chavez the gas I say. The gas companies just want to get paid. They will extract as much as possible from our wallets and the earth. PERIOD. That is Capitalism!!

Posted By ssaylor Towanda, pa: May 21, 2009 2:24 pm

It is hard to determine exactly how high gas prices will peak this summer. The ongoing recession has attributed to the lower prices we are seeing today compared to a year ago, before this economic monster unleashed its fury. I would personally guess that it may peak at 3.00 (average) per gallon, and it will be blamed on the hurricane season. Of course, we all know that prices are the result of both political and corporate bureaucracy.

I am personally not worried about the cost of gas, because I drive a four-cylinder Honda Accord. And my commute to and from anywhere (including work) is not more than 10 miles a day!

Should gas prices continue to rise, then I would be less inclined to plan extended driving getaways this summer. I will fare better if I stay in the comfort of my own home and enjoy the pool as my getaway!

Posted By Juan, Birmingham, AL: May 21, 2009 2:16 pm

We are screwed!! It amazes me, the lack of attention to the price of gas and the fact that $4/gallon gasoline was the catlyst for the economic mess we are in. As soon as the economy starts to improve gas prices are going to rise to $4 again. And we are at least 20-30 years away from technology having an impact on the amount of gasoline we use. As long as big money companies (that are the real legislators), are making money selling fuel, cars, and tires, we won’t see any change. We are doomed thanks to human nature and pure greed!

All these idiots who go on about high gas prices every where else in the world keep forgetting one thing the reason why it is so high is because of all the taxes their goverments have put on a gallon of gas. And besides our economy is not based on high fuel prices, it is based on low fuel cost. This is why we are able to spend money on other things.

I strongly believe that the $4.00+ gas prices was the straw that broke our economies’ back. I believe that started the current recession. If gas prices get that high again, I believe it will strangle any recovery. It takes just to much money out of the average person’s pocket.

Posted By Craig, St. Louis, MO: May 19, 2009 8:47 am

Here’s a thought….only allow those companies, individuals, etc. who actually USE the oil, to trade in it! Get rid of the speculators and the hedge funds and all others who never take delivery, remove them from the equation, and the price will indeed be reasonable.

So now what? We gonna bail out the big oil companies now because their profit is not as big as last years. I say we nationalize the oil companies, do away with all the subsities we give to every Tom, Dick and Hussan! Enough is enough. Barack O’bama and the crooks in congress need to start paying for their own gas, not to mention health care and live off the min pay that millions in the U.S. do! We are paying $2.29 a gallon of gas in North Ala. Hell no we won’t go! We won’t fight for Texaco, BP, and all the other big ripoff! Talk about legalize stealing! Wall street is robbing us blind. The price of gas will be the price of gas. Nothing that any one of us writes will change the dynamics that drive the oil machine.

I think the American people are being ripped off!!!!!!I pay attetion to the oil trade everyday and the price of gas and the price of crude oil doesn’t match.Last summer with crude oil at the same price as last year gas was higher last year than it is this year.So to me that proves that everyone connected to the oil indusrty is greedy!!!!!!Why if gas was higher last year at the same price of crude oil it’s lower this year? They make their own prices to make sure they get 300% profit. If they are truly for the American people and not greedy BILLIONAIRES then why let gas fall to $1.50 a gallon and allow the AMERICAN PEOPLE a chance to take care of their families. We shouldn’t have to chose between buying a full dinner for our family and saving gas money to make it to work everyday.Demand is not as high as they’re claiming it to be!!!!We the people are not stupid!!!!!!We know that the more we drive the more we will be ripped off!!!!A real high percentage of Americans only go to work, school and church. So politicans, big oil companies, and BILLIONAIRE CEO’S STOP ROBBING the AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone noticed that the $150/barrel oil price dropped before the economy took the credit crunch hit? Why? Because congress was actually threatening to crack down on the speculation in oil. When the economy went “crash”, congress dropped the effort. Perhaps now is the time to pick up that effort and run with it congress.

I THINK THE PRICE OF A BARREL OF OIL NEEDS TO GO UP AS WELL AS NATURAL GAS, MY JOB DEPENDS ON THOSE TWO PRICES. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY 3.00 BUCKS FOR A GALLON OF GAS.

Consumers do not have the right to complain about high gas prices. After all, consumers set the price of gas, not oil companies. Oil is a limited resource, and consumers can choose whether or not to buy it. Gas prices follow the very simple laws of supply and demand. As demand rises beyond the available supply, the price must necessarily rise to put downward pressure on demand. As demand falls, prices must fall to attract more demand. Problems arise when the government interferes with gas prices. If the government caps gas prices, then they are preventing natural market forces from curtailing demand, and we will have gas shortages like we had in the 1970s all over again. So, in short, if you think gas prices are too high, don’t buy it. It’s your choice.

Posted By Eric, Lansdale PA: May 18, 2009 5:44 pm

Oil and gas are traded on the stock market. Investors drive the price up, whoever the investors are? If we want a fixed price, get it off the trading floor. They are traded like every other commodity and the price is going to continue to rise as we get closer to summer because investors know more people will travel and they can make money. Are oil companies the investors? This I do not know? But someone is driving the prices up. Any little thing affects the market but oil companies are not gouging the american public, those who can make money off of these commodites are driving the price up. Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about this principle?

I have no sympathy for people who rant about the price of gas when they commute in a 5000lb vehicle on their own. As a lady said to a customer who was ranting about how much it cost to fill his SUV. You bought it to be cool, you also have to be cool while filling it up :)
Anyway I bought a 1986 Yamaha XT600 , a dual purpose motorcyle. It hums down the road at an easy 70mph and gets 55 to 60 mpg.

I think it is about time that people pay more for gas then diesel, after all if everyone in the country used diesel we would use much less fuel. Ignition by compression is much more effecient. If you don’t like the price of gas build a stil, buy some corn mash and yeast, and make your own fuel! Stop trying to feed a bunch of overseas populations that need birth control, not food!

Have we not learned from the past? Our economy always suffers when the price of oil goes up. I hate to think what impact it can/will have on this current economical crisis. Our nation could go bankrupt! Maybe that’s what OPEC is hoping will happen. I believe a lot of nations would love to see us go down!

Here it is the week before “summer driving season” and as usual as the Memorial Day weekend comes upon us so does inflated fuel prices. It’s the
simple “supply and demand” theory in practice…however this time we plenty of supply. It would be nice to give the middle class a break so we can go out, enjoy our summer and not have to deal with fuel price hampering our fun or our economy.

I am not worried about gas prices because I learned my lesson. I take public transportation to work and I don’t drive a gas hog SUV/Pick up vehicle. I just bought a home next to a park & ride bus stop within 1 mile. So bring on the $5 a gallon gas prices. Those of you complaining about the price of gas, then we as a nation should stop buying gas guzzler cars and that supports those unfriendly countries like Russia, The Middle East and Chavez!!

Sure refiners are only operating at 80-85% capacity. Where does it say that refiners have to operate at 90-100% capacity when profit margins are down? When profit margins are up, refiners increase production. It is simply good business practices. Why would a refiner flood the market with gasoline when profits are down? By increasing supply, you push profits further down. By decreasing supply, you push demand and prices up. Simple economics of supply and demand. What company produces more product when profits are down? Name me one other company that does this.

High prices are the only thing that has EVER slowed energy consumption. Thus my 3-part solution to the problem:
1) Take your foot off the gas and save a few bucks
2) Move closer to work
3) Vote for higher energy taxes
Just one man’s opinion.

As I write this comment the price of gas is $2.25 a gallon in the Baltimore, Maryland area. The price of crude is $59 a barrel. At this pace the price of gas will be over $4 a gallon when the price of crude reaches $75 a barrel. Wake up people, the gas companies are setting artificial prices because we have to buy gas. Other than the pennies per gallon difference between various gas stations we have no choice but to pay these money hungry oil executives. What a monopoly they have going.

Posted By Anonymous: May 18, 2009 2:19 pm

We should charge them the same price for wheat as they do for oil. If they don’t want to pay that for the wheat that they import then they can starve! They can try and ea their oil. That maybe would give food for thought when the are constanly cutting production to hedge the oil market.

Not surprising..the “First” big Summer weekend is approaching, Memorial Day, and the price of gas is on the rise..Hmmmm…well we are now at a supply level that has not been seen in almost 20 years, yet we are paying at the pump. Just when they say the economy is starting to recover, which I do not believe, the gas prices rise again. Can you say 2008 all over again? just a matter of time.

Posted By Mike, Philly: May 18, 2009 2:11 pm

Does anyone know how it works? We have alot of crude oil. But we don’t have enough refineries to convert the crude into gasoline. This is where the cost increases. When there is a high demand and we can’t produce enough gas as fast as fast as it’s needed; the cost goes up. We need more refineries to convert the crude.

Posted By Anonymous: May 18, 2009 2:07 pm

Remember even if we drilled oil here it still gets sold on the open market.
meaning the oil companies would just have more oil to sell to the highest bidder.

why do people think that oil would stay here??
Its all about the money.

Posted By Wayne: May 18, 2009 2:05 pm

Its amazing how the price of gas itself is raising in contradiction to the employment or economic growth. There is nothing currently existing to require a 30 cent jump in a months time. This is how fast it jumped last spring, while high oil is a big part of the economic situation we are dealing with now. The bad part for the general population is there is little way to quantify the issues it caused. There is nothing to support the price point they are asking for historically or currently. Regardless if they are affecting the way we drive or other issues for the benefit of our Earth, our economy suffers greatly in a time when it has already had its leg cut off. What people spend on fuel they dont spend on discressionary items, food, or even other essentials because they need the fuel to do all of them and keep a job. To all those whining that this is a good thing, try catching a bus and see how well that works for you every day. The bus for most Americans does not operate on usable time frames or schedules. I dont think it is the stations causing the mess because higher money spent on feul means less in thier minimarkets. I think the refiners or oil companies are the ones controling the situation, the last I knew we had a surplus. The price doesnt show any common sense. The reduced demand on oil from high prices does not show immediately. It shows in other ways such as through a ruined economy that uses less of it, which is where we are now. A resource that is priced beyond usefullness becomes useless.

I cannot seem to understand why the price of gas continues to go up at a disproportional rate to the cost of oil. The cost of a gallon of gas here in Texas is well over half of what is was last summer, and yet oil is still at just $58 a barrel and fluctuating. It is extremely disproportional and doesn’t add up. I feel like someone is trying to slip the wool over our eyes here. Jon in LA’s opinion is exactly the problem here. There shouldn’t be regulations on the price of gas, but i believe it should remain proportional to the cost of oil and not be raised on ‘fear’ or the predictions of a few. To use Jon’s example, has anyone ever heard of the cost of milk going up over supply fears? I take offense that an oil company would think that we are so gullible.

Does anyone look at the statistics from the DOE? We now have as much oil in storage than any other time in our past. The President has put almost 4 million barrels of crude in the SPR in the last 4 weeks (more in a month than Bush ever did). Do you think this may contribute to the rise in prices? Refinery usage is at about 80%. There is no shortage of oil. If prices rise too much, our fragile economy will tank worse than any time in our history.

If you don’t like gas prices here, move! Cross the border into Canada or live in any of the semi-socialist countries in Europe and you’ll be thankful for what you pay for fuel here. Until Americans are willing to compromise on the multiple & complex issues facing the energy industry as a whole, things will not change. We love our big, fast, gas guzzling vehicles, which we drive 20 miles over the speed limit and refuse to consider alternative enrgies in a meaningful and constructive way. And, at the same time we vilify an industry that provides us with oil to keep warm, electricity to stay cool and various fuels to allow us to earn a living by travelling to work.

Posted By Harry Preston, Cumming GA: May 18, 2009 1:21 pm

As most every comment today has stated in one way or another that the Oil industry is so blatantly corrupt in taking money from the American people. For example, Exxon Mobile, just one of the large companies making over $40 billion per quarter. Add it all up between all the oil companies and my Gosh, it is nothing short of out and out theft right in front of your face. The oil companies have shown up to testify before Congress, but weren’t sworn in. How could that happen unless Congress was in it with them? How could this be, unless the Oil PACs are pouring millions upon millions of dollars into the pockets our Senators and Congressmen and women? Once again, right in front of our faces. There is nothing you can do except vote the corrupt government officials right out of office. Of course, that means we have to have a majority of the country willing to vote in such a way that this would happen. Since most Americans are apathetic and only care if the man or woman they are voting for is far enough to the right or to the left then nothing will ever happen and we will “owe our sole to the company store.” Until something directly hits a voter’s pockets then the Oil Industry under the protection of the U.S. government Legislative Branch will continue to laugh all the way to the bank.
Oh but wait, what about Alternative Energy Sources? Well that’s up to the Oil Industry isn’t it? No? Yes? Do you even know? Do you even know how many viable sources of alternative energy are out there that you could be using and saving yourself money bypassing the Oil Companies? Maybe if we can’t beat them, we join them, use all the sources available to us and let the Oil Industry flounder while we put a smile on our face. Just a thought – Anyone have a better one?

A response to a few other messages:

1. The oil price seen on CNN/Money is not the one paid by most of the US (it’s not shipped East).
2. The price of oil is controlled by OPEC, a near monopoly. Even if the US tapped all its reserves, OPEC could counteract it by cutting their production — we CANNOT drill our way out of this mess.
3. Oil is traded in US dollars, so when the dollar is down, more oil is purchased, which drives up the price.
4. Oil is traded on a global market, so even if we produced more here, we would not get a “local discount,” because anyone in the world could buy it.

If you want lower gas prices, then REDUCE CONSUMPTION. Do the speed limit and don’t accelerate hard — these both waste gas. Don’t buy bottled water — plastic is made from Petroleum, just like gasoline, and then it has to be shipped, which wastes more gas — instead, buy a resuable water bottle and fill it from the tap. Finally, recycle your plastic products (in addition to paper, glass, etc.), so that they get reused.

If we look at history, as Memorial Day approaches gas prices rise. Not just stations on the interstate, but in our neighborhoods. Always has been, always will be.

Posted By Dan Virginia Beach, VA: May 18, 2009 1:12 pm

I’m not worried about gas prices because it’s out of my control. All I can do is take fewer trips and invest money. Gas is rising disproportionately than in previous times. By the present rate of increase gas will be $4.00 a gallon when crude oil reaches $100 a barrel. As gas prices increase it will stunt economic growth and in turn retract back to depression levels. If Exxon Mobil is allowed to take the consumers’ lunch money, don’t expect the consumer to have money for restaurants, cars, tv’s and homes. Eventually everybody suffers.

Posted By Nate Baltimore, Maryland: May 18, 2009 1:01 pm

The market is being gamed pure and simple. In the long run however, the oil companies and OPEC will lose.

We have to get off oil. It’s the only way to put an end to it. Park or scrap your SUV and stop buying cheap (cheap as in flimsy, poorly made) Chinese and Indian made crap at Wal-Mart.

Posted By Pete: May 18, 2009 1:01 pm

One thing everyone seems to be ignoring is the rate at which the refineries are operating. I would guess the number would be around 85% to 86%. Lowering the amount of gasoline and distillates refined will cause an increase in the cost. Yes, we have plenty of crude oil and a decent inventory of fuels but when the refineries cut back on production the price goes up. I think most politicians are in the hip pockets of the oil companies so they will turn their backs to any manipulating that may be going on.

Posted By Bob, Harrisburg, Pa: May 18, 2009 1:00 pm

I really think the price of oil should go back up and level out between $150 and $175 a barrel. The federal gas tax should be increased with the proceeds used for R&D in developing alternative energy sources. The resulting gas prices would end up somewhere between $5 and $6 a gallon. We need this. We have to end our reliance of oil from the middle east.

Posted By Roger – San Angelo, TX: May 18, 2009 12:54 pm

Bob in Ann Arbor, MI has it right…the cost of gas vs oil prices doesn’t add up. I will travel less if at all and the higher gas prices me less for me to spend at stores. Isn’t that what we keep hearing…”we need consumers to spend”. Sorry won’t be happening here.

We are starting this summer with a ballast market. For 87 octane the highest will top around 2.60 to 2.80 possibly in the low 3.00 range depending on how Hurricane season goes. Now if we get one trickle of expanding demand in Asia and India then we could go above 3.00 rather quickly because of speculation, but I don’t see the anomaly’s from last summer returning unless we get into a major Spat with Iran, Russia, or Venezuela. But I can not predict if Goldman Sachs and other large firms will start manipulating the price of light sweet crude by buying tons of futures. If that starts to happen we are in trouble again, Geithner please re regulate the commodities market.

Posted By Allan, Detroit Michigan: May 18, 2009 12:52 pm

All you have to do is look at what 147 per barrel did last year. The economy was already in a fragile state and the price of fuel (all types) was all that was needed to send it over the edge. I think the big investors (or traders should I say) should have seen it coming, but greed kicked in…and now look at some of them …asking for taxpayer assistance, AND getting it.
What kind of signal does that send! Hang on folks, unless they get some kind of common sense knocked into their heads, we are going to be in a worse boat that we have been. I think they learned a lesson but I wouldn’t count it out. People (like myself) are going to be cautious about spending because they really don’t know when and if they will need more money to commute to and from work.

Unfortunately I feel that we will be near or above last year’s record and paying over $4 a gallon by July 1st. Prices are already up almost $1 from their lows with no change to the supply and demand situations. This will put a major dent in our budget in the summer and we are not planning any major trips this summer. Oil company executives were disappointed over last quarter’s earnings and they want to get back to last year’s levels. Our only hope is that this Administration is not as tied to the oil companies as our last Administration but I think this may be one topic that President Obama can’t have much impact on.

Posted By Bruce, Newark NJ: May 18, 2009 12:49 pm

Our politicians are still at fault since we are dependent on foreign oil, while America is awash in untapped oil resources. Keeping everything “green and clean” will continue to cost America. Do not blame the oil companies as they are also victims of our corrupt politicians.

Posted By Jerry Webb, Houston TX: May 18, 2009 12:48 pm

Posted By John Landers, Oneida, Illinois: May 18, 2009 12:44 pm

From what I understand, gas prices seem to be going up due to the weak demand for gas. It might be a good idea to lower the prices of gas in order to get more people to buy more gas instead of charging the already taxed populus more money per gallon. Seems like the oil companies like to drive away potential customers.

Posted By terry, costa mesa ca: May 18, 2009 12:43 pm

Please remember that the price of gas is not linear, i.e. you can’t just calculate it by barrel price. The taxes and other fees on gas make prices disproportionate to the barrel price, as some are fixed per barrel, and some are sliding. Anyway…hate gas prices? Hit ‘em where it hurts, buy a hybrid. I’m no tree-hugger, I’m just done supporting countries who hate us. Let them wilt on the vine.

I think gas will reach $4 a gallon this summer. I think investors and oil companies and opec will test the waters with the new administration to see how far they can go.

Yes, I am worried about the rising cost of gas because it will further deteriorate the economy and cause more people to be unemployed and cause the cost of goods and transportation to also increase. This is bad, because many employers have had a wage freeze because of the poor economy.

Yes, the rising cost of fuel will mean no traveling and no vacation again this year. If many have stay home vacations again this year, it means a poor year again for industries catering to tourists and vacationers.

Several problems with gas prices going anywhere… #1 There isn’t a shortage. #2 Most people aren’t driving ANYWHERE (including work). #3 We have so much oil right now that tons of it are sitting offshore because there isn’t ANYWHERE TO PUT IT! There needs to be more pressure on Oil and Gas companies to PRODUCE adequate ’supply’ to meet demand. For too long these companies have been PERMITTED to set and control their own prices by disguising low production as ’shortages’. If any other industry tried to pull what Big Oil is ALLOWED to do, people would be going to jail. We need more regulation and we need it NOW.

Posted By Sid, FL: May 18, 2009 12:27 pm

I am so surprised we have heard little about oil/gas from the new administration. They seem to be doing so well at addressing many key areas, I am surprised there is not a short term plan to ensure prices stay near $2/gal as to not impact the recovering economy. Unfortunately we will likely see $3.00+ prices soon. Such prices will not impact family trips, but it does impact daily commuting choices.

First, I think it outrageous that gas prices are moved up and down the spectrum (can you say collusion?) without so much as a penalty… we’ve all read the articles on these guys – great stock to buy but sucks to be a customer! That being said: Gas prices will top out at $3.25/gallon by Labor Day (at the latest)

Posted By Scott, Mesa AZ: May 18, 2009 12:18 pm

The price of gas with it’s up and downs is very confusing. Can’t we just have have gas prices that flucuate under the $2 dollars a gallon? Once it get to be over $2.50 a gallon thats when the ecompany will come crahing down once again to a screaching halt. Something thing needs to be done to regulate gas prices and fast. I’m all for companies to make a profit but the profits that these big gas companies have been making is astronomical and it is at the cost of the cosumers wallet.

Gas prices and investors live in another dimension cause they surely are not looking at this reality. How is that last year oil about $60ish a barrel and gas was $1.65/gal and now it is $2.25+ish a gal. Greed, pure and simple. Just because the stock does not mean folks are not losing their jobs and life is getting rosy again.

Posted By Dan, Navarre, Fl: May 18, 2009 12:09 pm

They (as in the oil companies) are raising prices because they can, not because they have to. You’ll pay it, and you’ll think well it’s still better than last year. Keep thinking that, keep driving, keep complaining to your co-workers who can’t do anything about it, and they’ll keep raking in record profits. Either quit complaining, or do something. Make an effort and write every congress man and woman you have access to, or quit driving. But you won’t do that because you’re sheep. You as a society have been conditioned for a generation now that you can’t make a difference. So keep belly aching that you can’t make a difference, and my oil stock will keep going up.

Thanks

In this short sighted corporate climate of cut jobs and/or pay to try to maintain profit levels and bonuses for execs, if gas prices are allowed to get out of hand again, they can forget any recovery. You’re not going to sell cars, flat screen TVs, houses,etc.. when the majority of your population barely has enough money to cover the basics. I lost 13% of my pay and had my benefits cut all while my company measured it’s profits in the billions $$ last year. If I have to go back to spending $100 a pop to fill the tank in my 2003 mini van I will be hard pressed to buy anything.

Posted By Greg, Whiting Indiana: May 18, 2009 12:07 pm

I think gas prices may go as high as the gas companies want to make them.
At it’s peak last summer, oil was $147 per barrel, and we were paying $4.20 in Michigan for a gallon of gas.

Today, oil is at $58.10 as I write. That means we should be paying $1.66 at the pump. Instead we are paying $2.39

I think that means as oil continues up, gas prices will far exceed what they did last summer.

Posted By bob, ann arbor, MI: May 18, 2009 12:07 pm

Gas prices are being manipulated by the oil companies and the rifineries, right underneath the noses of congress and the senate who apparently look the other way and allow it to happen. There is no justification for the 30 cent a gallon spike in the price of gas other than Memorial day is just around the corner. If the supply of crude oil dropped last week, because 5 tankers are sitting offshore and didn’t unload then gas prices spike, and the oil is unloaded 2 days latter. They play these little games, and think the American public is to stupid to notice.

Posted By William, Bluefield, Va.: May 18, 2009 12:06 pm

What I would like to know, is how gas prices can be in the range of $2.25 and up when per barrel price is below $60. When gas was $4 – per barrel price was $147 – it doesn’t take a math whiz to see that doesn’t compute and there have been no satisfactory explanations either – just silence and rising cost, as if those making the money are holding their collecive breaths and hoping the consumers are either stupid or distracted.

They keep say well its better than last years prices. I would hope that the prices would be better than last year since they were the highest on record. Big oil still came out ahead with profits and investers that have no idea what is going on in the oil industry are the ones controlling the stock price. You have gas stations that jack up the price at the pump the second the stock price jumps, but then take weeks to lower the price back down with the stock prices fall.

The government, which up until now has turned a criminally blind eye toward the blatant oil/gasolene profiteering, needs to become responsible as the governmental managers of this country and stop the profiteering IMMEDIATELY! It is this kind of unchecked and unregulated business activity that is ruining the national economy. It is blatantly obvious that our government is bought-off by the oil and gasolene industries. The industries raise prices in complete defiance of the free market. Under normal free market, supply and demand dictates prices. Well lets see…..We have record high levels of supply AND we have record low levels of demand. Prices should absolutely be dropping, but instead are rising….How can that be??? If the oil and gasolene companies wish to continue these profiteering activities, its time the U.S. government either take over these companies or regulate them.

The recent rise in gas prices when more Americans are out of work, is just a way for the big oil companies to make sure they have a multi billion dollar year. I for one will not be changing my driving habits from where they were last year at this time when the price per gallon was $4. If we keep driving like gas was $4 a gallon then EXXON and others will have to lower the price per gallon just to sell the stuff.

Posted By Tamila, Dartmouth, MA: May 18, 2009 11:58 am

The higher price is not due to a shortage or oil or gas. The world is awash with the stuff. It all has to due with wall st and doing what they were doing when it was 4 dollars a gallon. The same gas and oil is bought over and over by people who have no means to move or store the product. If the government doesn’t stop this practice the prices will continue to climb. Every stimulus package we receive goes straight to big oil. Wall street must be made to change or this will get out of hand again and cause the economy to spiral downward even more. It sure messed with the Car companies.

i say about 2.80 to 3.00 a gallon but if it goes over 3.50 a gallon this country is done, we will become a 3rd world country

Posted By mike cleveland, tn.: May 18, 2009 11:56 am

The thing I can’t understand about gas prices is this: the price of gas goes up so fast when there is a spike in oil prices, but when oil lowers, the price of gas comes down slowly.

In Buffalo, gas prices are higher than anywhere else. Our representatives claim that they are investigating why this is, but they’ve been saying that for a long time (years). It took months for prices to fall here after the last price boom and we’re way ahead in high prices now that summer is looming. What’s going on? Who is gauging us? What’s the real story?

Posted By Pat Carey, Buffalo, NY: May 18, 2009 11:52 am

Prices won’t reach the peaks this summer that we saw a year or two ago but anybody who doesn’t think they are on a long upward trend for the forseeable future is foolish. We should count ourselves lucky to have had a temporary reprieve for the last year.

For our family’s part we weren’t planning to do major traveling this year because of how the economy has affected us so gas prices won’t affect our vacation plans in any significant way.

Posted By MC, Austin, TX: May 18, 2009 11:51 am

I don’t think gas will reach as high as last year most people know that was one of the biggest things that got the us in the mess were in (gas so high you can’t pay your car or house loan)if it was to get that high it would finish off our economy nobody needs that.better $2 dollar gas and more sells then $5 dollar and nothing for anything else.

How high?
$2.50/gallon US average barring any major natural or political disaster.
$2.75/gallon locally (WA, Puget sound area)

Worried about rise in cost of gas?
No, if it maintains a slow rise and people have time to adjust by eventually migrating to more fuel efficient vehicles and mass transit. Biggest problem is improving the shipping of goods across our nation in a cost effective and efficient manner – fewer vehicles due to higher fuel prices means lower cost to ship to offset the higher fuel prices.

Impact on family travel plans?
Travel plans? I work too much to travel anywhere unless it is business travel…

I live near Indy and we have the big race next weekend. That makes May a traditionally high gas price month here. Prices fall about 2 days after the 500. Summer plans are to drive 1000 miles each way to New Hampshire. Last year we did not take a summer vacation. Gas prices in the low 2’s is tolerable. At today’s prices, gas will be about $230 for the 2300+ mile vacation. Just two nights stay in N.H. may top that.

Posted By Dave, Plainfield, IN: May 18, 2009 11:42 am

No need for high gas prices. It’s a scam to promote green alternatives. Why won’t our leaders tell the truth? We have more oil then we know what to do with yet they want to gouge us regardless. BO said the government cannot push the green alternatives with gas under $2 per gallon, that was 4 months ago. gas has been going up ever since. What a scam……

Posted By Dale, Plymouth MI: May 18, 2009 11:42 am

In spite of the fact that taxpayers are paying billions in bailouts to “rescue” the economy, big oil and refiners seem to be allowed to continue to raise prices that will stall whatever recovery might have been expected.

Posted By Bob, Homer Glen, IL: May 18, 2009 11:40 am

Gas prices have nothing to do with supply and demand because if they did the cost of gasoline would be going down. The price of gas is artificially being inflated because of the belief that millions of people will be traveling this holiday weekend and it is a way for the oil companies and the traders to cash in. As the cost of gas goes up, my travel goes down.

Posted By Chris, Hollywood, MD: May 18, 2009 11:39 am

Why are the gasoline companies allowed to gouge us each spring season? A few years ago the excuse was hurricanes, then global warming, then peak demand. Now we are at 19 years highs in oil reserves and they are parking full tankers of oil of shore because they don’t where to put the oil,…..yet prices are still rising…..I hope this country wakes up and gets off oil quick. We need to stop using 100 y.o. technology. Even the light bulb as we know it is going obsolete, so should gas engines!!….Just my 2 cents

Posted By Bob: May 18, 2009 11:36 am

Gas prices will rise as high as the special interests want them to…it’s the American way! Even if there is no reason for them to rise, they will, because money makes the world go round, and regardless of the cost, we all have to get to work somehow, yeah?
